As Pride Month comes to a close, we reflect on the importance of inclusion, visibility, and respect for all people – regardless of their social background, gender identity (including non-binary identities), or sexual orientation. This month is also a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and dignity of LGBTQ+ individuals, whose voices and contributions enrich our shared mission.
"At WWF-Laos, we believe that a thriving future for people and the planet must be built on acceptance, equal opportunity, and collaboration. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for our team, the communities we work with, and the partners we collaborate with. By valuing the diversity among us, we strengthen not only our workplace but also the impact of our conservation efforts," said Loris Palentini, Country Director of WWF-Laos.
WWF-Laos recognizes the rights of all individuals and is committed to ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. Internally, we have strengthened our knowledge and practices around Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), in line with WWF’s global commitments to equity, human rights, and inclusive conservation. These efforts help us better understand and respond to the intersecting experiences of different groups – including LGBTQ+ individuals, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and others often marginalized in environmental decision-making.
"Inclusion is not just a value – it is the foundation for sustainable change. Because when everyone is respected, empowered, and included, we are better equipped to protect the natural world we all depend on," he added.
Because our differences make the difference.
