Video Graphic for Forest Restoration Project, WWF-Laos
Duration: 2 months
Base location: Vientiane, Laos with at least one time traveling to the project sites

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in Laos is seeking the expertise of a consultant (Lao National) to produce a graphic VDO (8-10 minutes long) showing the implemented activities, the impacts/achievements of the ‘Community-based Forest Restoration and Management for Livelihood’ project.

WWF-Laos is the local office of the WWF International Network, the world’s largest and most experienced independent conservation organisation. One of the projects under the Forest Programme of WWF-Laos is ‘Community-based Forest Restoration and Management for Livelihood’, implemented in Se Xap National Protected Area, Salavan and Sekong provinces. The project aims to restore and protect forest landscape, at the same time enhancing income of the area’s culturally diverse people who also depend on forests for their livelihoods. The main activities of the project include (1) Forest Restoration and Management (2) Promoting Agroforestry and (3) Supporting Livelihood Development. Aim of Consultancy
The objective of this consultancy is to produce a short video presenting the key activities of the project, key achievements, and its benefits to the communities. The VDO will be then used as one of the indicators showing the ‘before’ and ‘after’ the project – regarding its intended objective to the communities and management of forest in Se Xap. The consultant is going to work closely with the project team and WWF-Laos’ Communication Manager through the whole process of this assignment.
Scope of Work
  • Identify what is needed to feed in the 8-10 minutes VDO that will meet the expected concept of the VDO;
  • Prepare a tentative schedule / agenda of which content of the VDO should be arranged; such as the VDO interview, project location VDO shooting, photo/VDO of the implemented activities, etc;
  • Come ready with all necessary VDO/Photography equipment such as drone, DSLR camera, mic, voice recorder, and others;
  • Work under the supervision of the communications manager of WWF-Laos and the project manager;
  • Conduct interviews with government officials and communities;

  • Final post-production of the full edited VDO of 8-10 minutes (Lao language with English subtitles);
  • A video concept notes;
  • All photos and video footage including interviews must be given to WWF-Laos;
  • The right to use all footage and photo shall be given (credit) to WWF-Laos;
  • All photos shall be delivered in original JPG format;
  • The final cut video shall be delivered in HD format, with all footage.


The consultancy is expected to start on December 6 and ended on January 31 or at any time before if all deliverables are approved by responsible managers. 
Required profile
  • Professional experience in photo and videography;
  • Proven technical of video/photo production;
  • Good communication skills and storytelling;
  • Understanding of the general environmental context in Laos;
  • Advance knowledge/skill in ADOBE Premier pro and or other VDO editing software;
